- Take action on issues that impact our global health through Kahea, the Surfrider Foundation, and the Hawaii Alliance for Progressive Action
Stay Focused
Focus on sustainability, keep improving, and have fun as you set and fulfill goals:
- Thinking of studying environmental studies in college? High school classes to help you prepare include: US Government & Politics, Human Geography, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology
- PaCES Summer Environmental Science Program at Windward Community College has a program for high school students interested in environmental and marine science
- Check out the Imi Pono no ka ‘Aina two-week environmental education summer program: Students grades 6-12 travel to natural areas across Hawai‘i Island to learn about plant propagation, invasive species control, reforestation and Hawaiian culture
Get Involved
Great minds think alike. Connect and work with other people who like sustainability as you reach your dream:
- Volunteer with Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps (HYCC): Volunteers at least 17 years old can gain experience, knowledge and skills with environmental agencies across Hawaii
- Join the Sierra Club of Hawaii
- Join a beach cleanup
- Look for ways to support your community through Conservation Connections
- Consider job opportunities that connect people with the water, such as fishing or tourism activities
- Find opportunities to work at an organic farm
- Develop marketable skills with internships for teens at Haleakala National Park and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
- Support the `aina through the Kokua Hawaii Foundation
